Bruce Sutter was primarily known as a relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1976 to 1988 for teams such as the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Atlanta Braves. Sutter was a pioneer of the split-finger fastball, which became a popular pitching technique. He was a six-time All-Star and won the National League Cy Young Award in 1979. Additionally, Sutter was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006, recognizing his significant contributions to the game.
